What to Bring
8:30 a.m.
Grab coffee and a breakfast sandwich from Kwik Star in Manchester - you'll also want to grab a few snacks to tie you over until lunch! Head North for a beautiful drive through Backbone State Park. Take time to use the 21 miles of hiking trails or cast a line to trout fish, and be sure to hit the look out point near the East Entrance!
11:30 a.m.
Next, you'll head into Edgewood for a scheduled tour of Kendrick Forest Products. Tour takes about 1-2 hours and you'll see logs turned to lumber, the art of cabinet making, and end in their home showroom, The MARKKET.
1 p.m.
Enjoy a late lunch in Edgewood! Thai-One-On, located downtown and offers the best burgers around!
2 p.m.
After lunch, the Edgewood Locker is a must! Grab some snacks, and if you're up for another tour, they give walk-in tours of their impressive facility! Tour takes 30 minutes to an hour.
3 p.m.
Venture your way back to Manchester and head to the Whitewater Park where you can walk along the river, wade in the water, and enjoy the beautiful Maquoketa.
4 p.m.
End the day with a relaxing cold drink on the deck at Riverbend Pub & Grill, which over looks the river.
